A hidden restaurant nestled within limestone hills in a housing area. You can easily miss it. Many tables available when we arrived at 6.30pm on a Saturday. We ordered and the food arrived pretty fast. The dishes were tasty with rice and finished till the plates were clean. Parking can be challenging when there place is maxed out. A rustic little restaurant

We were blown away by the fresh steamed tilapia, salted egg fried sotong, paku vegetables, claypot brinjal, and minced meat tofu. Every dish was delicious and cooked to perfection. Amazing speed, great flavours, and friendly service. Definitely a go-to spot for a quick and satisfying meal!

Well hidden in the Bercham. Easily missed as the signage is very poor. Even locals will not notice it. Was introduced by a friend. Been there few times and tried few dishes. Dry curry mutton. Nice but can be nicer if slightly spicier. Stir fry Sambal belacan fern leaves. Nice. Steam fish was good but a bit too sweet. Deep fry fish with their signature sauce definitely deserve a thumbs up . Tau fu with minced pork was ok. Sweet and sour pork was ok but slightly overcooked. Deep fry pork was nice on first try but was not too good on other occasions. Salted egg yoke fish skin was yummy. Overall the food here is considered good but the environment is not too ok. Situated at the foothill of a limestone mountain, it’s infested with lots of mosquitoes and insects. Was bitten many times. Maybe I attract them because I saw other patrons enjoying their meals. Not advisable to go during rainy days or after the rain as the place can have an unpleasant odor. The entrance to the place is a car workshop with a dirty stagnant water pond (potential mosquito breeding ground) Verdict: will not go in near future… maybe can order take away instead.

This is truly a hidden gem with mountains surrounding this little valley. This eatery is packed with people , but the environment does not feel stuffed. Many people bring their own bottles of wine to enjoy mostly small comfort food . I just love the fried anchovies. It goes well with our wine and beer

We stumbled upon Kai Xing Gu Restaurant, a hidden gem tucked behind a housing area, almost like a secret cave. The food was absolutely delicious – the stir-fried greens were fresh and crunchy, the tofu was rich and comforting, and the fried platter was crispy and addictive, especially with the dipping sauces. The fresh coconut water was the perfect touch to balance everything. Such a satisfying meal ; truly a treasure in Ipoh
